Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles Platinum status means you’re a top traveler. Normally, you need to fly 50,000 miles or 45 flights in 12 months to get it. When you fly with Vietnam Airlines (flights with a VN code), Platinum members get many benefits to make their trip smoother and better.

One great benefit is priority for seats and free upgrades. This means you get priority when booking or on waitlists, and better seat choices if your flight changes. You can also pick your seat for free in advance if you buy certain ticket types (Business, Premium Economy, Economy Flex, or Economy Classic). Or, get a 50% discount on cheaper Economy fares. A very valuable perk is the chance for a free upgrade to Business Class or Premium Economy when you check in, if seats are open and your original ticket class is full or eligible. This can save you a lot of money and make your flight much more comfortable. Plus, Platinum members can get a guaranteed seat on international flights over 6 hours (if you buy the most expensive Economy ticket at least 24 hours before) and on certain domestic routes. Getting a better seat or a guaranteed spot, especially on long flights, makes travel much less stressful.

Faster airport experience is another big part of Platinum status. You and up to five friends (or unlimited if they use Lotusmiles award tickets) can use SkyPriority counters for check-in. This also includes priority at ticket counters and connecting areas, and special fast lanes at security and immigration at Noi Bai and Da Nang Airports. Priority boarding with other SkyPriority passengers also makes getting on the plane easier.

Lotusmiles Platinum status also works with non-SkyTeam partner airlines when you fly on VN codeshare flights operated by them. Benefits can include lounge access, priority check-in, priority baggage tags, and extra checked bags, though they vary by partner. For example, on All Nippon Airways (NH) codeshare flights, you get two extra 23kg bags and 100% bonus miles. This extended reach is great for travelers in Southeast Asia or those connecting to Vietnam, giving you a consistent premium experience even outside the main SkyTeam network.
